The purpose of the Project Plan is to ensure all of the stakeholders are aligned in terms of the purpose and deliverables for a given project. It covers elements such as project aim, deliverables success criteria, required resources, risk assessment and roles and responsibilities amongst other.
The Project Plan can also be used to ensure changes are carried out in a planned manner which a requirement of standards such as for example ISO 9001 and ISO 27001. It can be used for projects related to quality, environmental, health & safety and information security amongst other, as well as any industry.
Traceability of people involved in a project can be maintained with the project plan and evidence is maintained in terms of who have approved the outcome.
